The possible misunderstanding of these terms could lead to problems. The golfer interprets the words and translates them into action, tending to exaggerate these movements and creating excessive tension throughout the body. Tension is the greatest enemy. A relaxed golfer will achieve a smooth, graceful, effortless and fluid golf motion, resulting in a powerful and accurate shot.

My challenge, as a teacher, is to help you understand the golf motion, as well as the various components that contribute and work in harmony with each other to improve your play ability..

It is important at the Academy that we enable our students to gain a clear mental image of their golf swing. Your personal golf swing is a signature that belongs to you. I have the knowledge, understanding and experience to help you understand why your golf swing is misbehaving. I will build on these elements through the aid of video analysis with specific drills and proper practice sessions.

Let me help you be aware of what happens when implementing the correct language and technique.

This is a very critical starting point. If not set up correctly, your body will be open and blocked on your back swing: the results will be pulled shots or weak slices. I will teach you a correct set up position to eliminate this.


Have you been doing just that? If you are, your body will be restricted with a tension filled motion. Your shots will be weak and misdirected. I will teach you the correct visual orientation point necessary for best results.


Is this true? If you do, your muscles will constrict subconsciously, and bring about undesirable results. I will correct this in your set up position.


Does this actually happen? Your objective should be to maintain your body mass behind the ball and keep it in place to provide stability through the forward motion. I will teach you the technique that will definitely improve your playability and accuracy.


True, your shoulders will turn or rotate. If you deliberately turn them, you will tend to have pushed shots or hooks dissipating the energy that comes from stretching the muscles. When performed correctly your shot pattern will tighten.

Yes, the hips turn reluctantly, only as far as they must, without twisting there must be a resistance. When performed correctly it will improve your accuracy.
